Mr. Ronnie Bayles
Ronnie Bayles, age 56, of Woodburn, KY, entered into rest Sunday, August 1, 2010 at the Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, KY.
A native of Simpson Co. KY he was the son of the late Louis Rowland Bayles and Mary Lou Ellis Clark who survives of Woodburn, KY. He was preceded in death by a sister Robbie Bayles Hanner.
He is survived by his wife Tambra Jo Bayles, a son Wesley Bayles of Woodburn, KY, 2 step children Ryan Forshee and Tonya Forshee both of Franklin, KY, 2 sisters Jo Carolyn Cassity and Susie Doss both of Franklin, KY, a brother Kenneth Bayles of Trussville, Alabama, 2 grandchildren Dalton Anders and Brennon Forshee.
Mr. Bayles was former employee of USA Steel Corp. in Portland, TN.
Visitation was 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Tuesday, August 3, 2010 and from 6:00 A.M. until funeral service time on Wednesday at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home. Services were held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home, with burial at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Dorothy K. Johnson
Mrs. Johnson, age 84 of Franklin, died Saturday, August 14th, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green.
A native of Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late William Kaphengst and Alene Minshall Kaphengst. She was preceded in death by her husband – Charles Leslie Johnson and a grandson – Lonnie Lawrence.
Survivors include 6 daughters – Linda Lawrence and husband Lewis of Franklin, Mary Graves of Franklin, Alene Johnson of Franklin, Chris Weathersppon and husband Billy of Mt. Juliet, TN, Cindy Lamb and husband Leonard of Portland, TN and Charlotte Doss of Bowling Green; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services were held Monday at 1pm with Pastor Tom Schaefer officiating. Burial followed at Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation was from 3 to 9pm Sunday and after 6am Monday at Crafton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lou Hogan
Lou Hogan, age 73, of Franklin, KY, entered into rest Monday, July 19, 2010 at 4:51 A.M. at the Hospice Center in Bowling Green, KY. She was born January 29, 1937.
A native of Monroe Co., KY, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Moore and the late Robbie Mae Milam Moore. She was preceded in death by her husband Waymon E. Hogan and a brother James Richard “Tobe” Moore.
She is survived by a daughter Sandy Miller Almstead of Richmond Hill, GA; 3 sons: Gary Moore Bryson of Ridgetop, TN, Terry Wayne Bryson and Mark Allen Bryson both of Cave City, KY; 8 grandchildren: Emery and Easton Almstead, Wren and Tatum Monroe, Nikki Boarman, Haley and Hannha Bryson and Tammy Latourette; 4 great grandchildren: Rachel and Trace Latourette, Austin Hall and Cohen Boarman; 4 sisters: Inez Proffitt and Alice Hayes both of Bowling Green, KY, Wanda Harris of Clarksville, TN and Bettye Watkins of Adams, TN; 3 brothers: A. C. Moore of Clarksville, TN, Freddie Moore of Springfield, TN and Follis Moore of Guthrie, KY; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hogan attended Macedonia General Baptist Church and was a retired employee of Sealed Power.
Visitation was 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010 and from 6:00 a.m. until funeral service time on Wednesday. The service was held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home. Internment followed at Restlawn Memory Gardens in Franklin, KY.

Mr. Earl Odell England, Jr.
Earl Odell England, Jr., age 70, of Portland, passed away July 8, 2010. He was born in Sumner County on July 18, 1939.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean Prock England; parents, Earl Odell England, Sr., and Pauline England; brother, Billy Ray England. He is survived by his daughter, Ginger England of Chicago, Ill.; sons, Michael England of Satellite Beach, Fla., Ernie England of Portland, Marty England of Portland; sister, Betty Ruth Hodges of Portland; brothers, Joe England of Portland, Wayne England of Portland; sister-in-law, Pat England, and the Prock family; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
Earl was a heavy equipment operator and a member of Labor Union and Operating Engineer Union Locals 386 and 369, and a member of the Portland Masonic Lodge.
Visitation was 3 - 9 p.m. Friday, July 9, 2010, and after 10 a.m. Saturday. Funeral services were 2 p.m., Saturday, July 10, 2010, at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Reynolds and Bobby Leon Thompson officiating. Internment followed Restlawn Memory Gardens. Pallbearers are Christopher England, Jeff England, Corey England, Timmy Prock, Dwight Prock and Bobby Thompson, Jr. A Masonic service will be at the cemetery.

Mrs. Thelma Harrison, age 83, of Franklin, KY, entered into rest Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at 2:10 a.m. at the Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, KY
A native of Clay Co. TN, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Hoy Arney and the late Grace Lee Stanford Arney. She was the wife of the late Dan G. Harrison. She was preceded in death by a son Stephen Gene Harrison. She is survived by 2 sons Charles Harrison and his wife Anita of Franklin, KY and Danny Harrison and his wife Maureen of Bowling Green, KY, a sister Martha Weidemann of Franklin, KY, 6 Grandchildren Adam, Travis, Henry and Clark Harrison, Katie Ransdell and Betsy Patel.
Mrs. Harrison was a member of the Franklin Church Of Christ and was a homemaker and a graduate of Bowling Green Business College.

Mrs. Doris Maxine Taylor
Mrs. Maxine Grow Taylor, age 81, of Franklin, KY, entered into rest May 27, 2010 at Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, KY.
A native of Simpson Co. KY, she was the daughter of the late A. K. Grow and Edna Earl Talley Grow. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Billy Taylor and 3 brothers Jim Grow, Bud Grow and R. C. Grow. She is survived by a sister Mattie Lou Riggins of Franklin, KY and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Taylor was a member of the First Baptist Church and retired as Simpson County Executive Director of (ASCS) Agriculture Stabilization Conservation Service.
Visitation was 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Saturday, May 29, 2010 and from 6:00 a.m. until funeral service time on Sunday at Booker-Gilbert Funeral Home. Services were 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 30, 2010 with internment at Restlawn Memory Gardens in Simpson Co., KY

Mr. James Berry Williams
Mr. Williams, age 91, of Orlinda, died Monday, May 24, 2010, at Golden Living Center.
He was born Aug. 22, 1918, in Robertson County to the late Henry C. and Essie Mae Cook Williams. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for many years, a member of Orlinda Senior Citizens Center, and was a retired television repairman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Veatrice Spivey Williams; a brother, Charles Edward “Sleepy” Williams; and a sister, Janie Honeycutt. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Mary Hardin Williams of Orlinda; stepson, Williams Hardin of Clarksville; stepdaughters, Joan Hardin Fulton of Dallas, Ga. and Janice Hardin Magnuson of Clarksville; nephews, J. T. Honeycutt, Ronnie Dale Honeycutt, Roy Lee Honeycutt and Kevin Williams; nieces, Sharon Nabors, Cindy Rowland, Julia Brown and Jane Reeves; four step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, May 26 at Milldale Chapel with Rev. Denny Burchett officiating. Interment followed in Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Franklin, KY.
The family received friends Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. They requested memorial contributions be made to either the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Memorial Fund or NorthCrest Hospice. All donations were sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home and Milldale Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Kenneth Dean Garrett
Mr. Kenneth Garrett, age 80, of Portland, TN, died May 8, 2010, at his residence.
The Sumner County, TN, native was owner and operator of Garrett Farms. He was a son of the late Jeff Garrett and Minnie Canida Garrett. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Harris Garrett; three daughters, Melinda James, of Portland, Judy McDole, of Franklin, and Jennifer Garrett-Larson, of Michigan; two sons, Jeff Garrett, of Morgantown, and Kenny Garrett, of Portland; a sister, Sara Thompson, of Naples, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The funeral was Monday, May 10, 2010, at Franklin First Baptist Church, with burial in Restlawn Memory Gardens.

Mr. Eldon Grimsley
Mr. “Slick” Grimsley, age 94 of Franklin, died Wednesday, April 21st, at the Medical Center in Franklin.
A native of Warren County, he was the son of the late Harrison Thomas Grimsley and Geneva Mae Sweatman Grimsley. He was a retired truck driver and an Army Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife – Lorene “Renee” Grimsley. Survivors include 1 daughter – Dorris Grimsley Lewis of Bowling Green; 1 son – Donald James Grimsley of Bowling Green; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 4 great greatgranchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friends – James Miller, Pat Deweese and Patsy Bridges.
Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 pm with Bro. Ronnie Carter officiating. Burial followed in Restlawn Memory Gardens.

Mr. Thomas Curl, Jr.
Mr. Curl, age 92 of Franklin, KY, entered into rest Friday, April 9, 2010 at his residence.
A native of Perry Co. TN, he was the son of the late Thomas Leslie Curl and the late Alta Hortense Cude Curl. He was preceded in death by his wife Louise W. Curl and 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
He is survived by a son Thomas Eugene Curl and wife Ruby of Batesville, AR; a sister Mildred Upton of Murfreesboro TN, and a brother James W. Curl of Centerville, TN. 2 grandchildren: Maria Summers and Leanne James; 5 great-grandchildren; Alta Marie Summers, Elisha Martin Summers, Thomas Lloyd Warren Summers, Matthew Levi Summers and Madelyn Louise Summers; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Curl was a retired employee of Tennessee Gas, a member of the Franklin First United Methodist Church and a member of the American Legion Post 62. He was a WWII Army-Air Force veteran serving as a bombardier.

A native of Simpson Co., KY, she was the daughter of the late James Sampson Toney and Betty Sue Gregory Toney of Franklin, KY who survives. She was preceded in death by a brother Jimmy Toney and a sister Linda Toney Russell. She is survived by her husband Wendell Keen, 2 daughters: Vickie Brown of Whitehouse, TN and Jenafer Brown of Nashville, TN; 2 sons: John Brown of Hendersonville, TN and Brian Brown of Whitehouse, TN; a step-daughter Rhonda Andrews of Gamelia, KY and 3 step-sons: Rickey Keen, Tony Keen and Jason Keen; 3 sisters: Cathy Gregory of Franklin, KY, Robbie Conyer and Pam Allen both of Portland, TN and a brother Tim Toney of Franklin, KY; 8 grandchildren: Cody and Cory Jackson, Alandria and Adyson Brown, Brendan and Ethan Brown, Gerrick Hines and a step-granddaughter Ry’Ann Richards; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Betty J. Booker
Mrs. Booker, born May 19, 1940 to Coy and Pauline Gober in Greenbrier TN, was one of thirteen children and was loved by her family. Betty moved to Nashville were she grew up and went to North High. She was married to Thomas B. Booker on June 17, 1956 and was married to him until she went home to be with Jesus on March 14, 2010.
She was a loving daughter and sister, wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She always had a tender heart for children and was willing to help those in need. These were lessons that she learned from her mother and tried to pass onto her children.
Betty accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of twelve she attended many churches in her life time and was a member of Mt. Pleasant General Baptist Church in Portland, TN. I look forward to seeing her again.

A native of Clay Co., TN., he was the son of the late Flavel B. Hogan and the Lucille Watkins Hogan of Burksville, KY. He was preceded in death by a brother James Hogan.
He is survived by his wife Lou Hogan; a daughter Wanda Hogan of Franklin, KY. and a son Eddie Hogan of Huntley, IL.; a step-daughter Sandy Miller Almstead of Brentwood, TN., 3 step-sons: Gary Bryson of Ridgetop, TN., Terry Wayne Bryson of Cave City, KY. and Mark Allen Bryson of Rockfield, KY.; 10 Grandchildren: Emery and Easto Almstead, Jake and Alise Hogan, Wren and Tatum Monroe, Nikki Boarman, Haley and Hannha Bryson and Tammy LLatourette; 4 Great Grandchildren: Rachel and Trace Latourette, Austin Hall and Cohen Boarman.
Mr. Hogan was a member of the Macedonia General Baptist Church, a farmer and a deputy for the Simpson County jail.

Mr. Boren, age 71, of Portland, TN, passed away March 11, 2010 at Sumner Regional Medical Center, Gallatin, TN.
He was born October 19, 1938 in Franklin, KY. He is the son of James C. and Mae (Dyson) Boren, both deceased. He was married to Arlen (Burnett) Boren who preceded him in death. He is survived by his sister, Sue Boren Bullington of Alvanton, KY; niece, Nancye Coles of Bowling Green, KY; nephew, Barry Bullington of Cottontown, TN; step son, Tony Olson of Bowling Green, KY; 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by step son, Floyd Olson.

Harold Trammel, Sr., age 84, of Portland, born 1925, born again, 1937; passed away March 1, 2010.
Mr. Harold Trammel is preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Lula Trammel; sisters, Dorothy Sain, Lorene Dorris; brother, Raymond Trammel. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Jean Trammel; son, Harold L. (Kathy) Trammel, Jr.; daughter, Belinda T. Sammie Slager, age 84, of Portland, passed away February 24, 2010, at his home. He was a truck driver for CEMC.
Mr. Slager was born September 25, 1925, in Lancaster, TN to the late James and Nellie (Bennett) Slager. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred (Hunter) Slager. He is survived by his daughters, Sherry (Walter) Sexton of Portland, TN and Susan (Gary) Szpont of BonAqua, TN; 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Douglas, age 82, of Portland, passed away February 18, 2010, at his residence.
Mr. Douglas was born in Youngstown, Ohio, on June 27, 1927, to the late George and Isabel Douglas. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; and son, Jim. He was a member of McKendree Memorial United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Sherry (Larry ) Groves of Portland; daughter-in-law, Janet Douglas of Lexington, Ky.; grandchildren, Michael Eisenbraun, Tracy Sanders, Ryan Groves, Amanda Douglas and Jamie Douglas; seven great grandchildren.
The family received friends from 1:30 p.m. - 3 p.m., Sunday, at the church before services.

She is survived by her son, Glen (Shirley) Gregory of Portland; daughter, Kathy (Richard) Pryor of Gallatin; sisters, Christine (Conley) Parsley of Gallatin, Sadie Hornberger of Gallatin; granddaughters, Terri (Jimmy) Robinson of Hendersonville, Tonya (Eric) Gregory of Bowling Green, Ky., Christina Pryor of Hermitage; grandson, Jamison Pryor of Gallatin; great grandchildren, Ashley and Austin Robinson, Audrey Gregory.

Mrs. Eva Nell Brown, age 66, passed away Monday, January 11, 2010 at her residence.
Mrs. Brown, a native of Robertson County TN, was born on October 9, 1943 to the late Homer Redferrin and the late Odell Wooten Redferrin. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters Patsy Hornberger, Joyce Hobdy and Sue Harper. She is survived by her husband Jackie Brown, a son Jason Brown and his wife Catherine of Scottsville, KY., 3 grandchildren Kristen, Justin and Michael Smith and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Brown was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, she worked part-time for Kendall and Franklin Simpson School Cafeterias. Memorials may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund or to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation was Wednesday and Thursday, January 13 -14, 2010. Services were held Thursday, January 14, 2010 with internment at Restlawn Memory Gardens in Simpson Co., KY.

Lucy Jane Branham Allen
Mrs. Lucy Jane Branham Allen, age 94, of Franklin passed away Saturday, January 2, 2010 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
Mrs. Allen, a native of Sumner County Tennessee, was the daughter of the late Lillard Branham and Eunice Branham. She was Baptist and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by 1 son - Billy Allen and 2 daughters - Roberta Allen and Margie Spruell and her husband - William Allen. Survivors include 5 daughters - Mary Owens, Nancy Hicks, and Karen Shoulders all of Franklin, Patricia Allen of Indianapolis and Peggy Lucas of Greenwood, Indiana; 3 sons - Kenneth Allen and Roger Allen both of Franklin and Ronnie Allen of Indianapolis; a half sister - Roberta Brooks of Rock Bridge, TN; 32 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren.
Visitation was January 4 - 5, 2010. Funeral arrangements were January 5, 2010 with Bro. Ronnie Delk officiating. Burial followed in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.

Roger Edward McFarlin
Mr. Roger Edward McFarlin, age 56, of Portland, passed away December 30, 2009.
Mr. McFarlin was born in Simpson County, KY, on February 12, 1953, to the late Laurance and Lillian McFarlin. He is survived by his daughter, Lindsey McFarlin of Portland; son, Chris (Kelli) McFarlin of Portland; six grandchildren; sister, Carol (Maxie) Beasley of White House; brothers, Joe (Marilyn) Russell, Larry (Shirley) McFarlin, Gary (Linda) McFarlin, Tommy (Penny) McFarlin, all of Portland.
Visitation was Thursday, December 31, 2009. Funeral services were Friday, January 1, 2010 with Berlin Harper officiating. Interment followed at Restlawn Memory Gardens. Pallbearers were Jeff McFarlin, Ronnie Cole, Aaron McFarlin, Cody McFarlin, Jeremy McFarlin and Richie Bagshaw.
Alice Christine Knight
Mrs. Alice Christine Knight, age 86, of Portland, passed away December 19, 2009.
Mrs. Knight was a member of Portland First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Eugene Knight, Sr.; son, Charles Eugene Knight, Jr. She is survived by her sons, James D. (Sherry) Knight of Diana, Tenn., Daniel L. (Karen) Knight of Fayetteville, Tenn.; daughter-in-law, Margaret Ann Knight of Blacksburg, Va.; grandchildren, Mike (Sharon) Knight, Laura Knight, Kelly (David Gulliver) Simmons, Jeff (Julie) Knight, Susan Barrontine, Jeremy (Kelly) Knight, Jason (Danielle) Knight, Drayton Knight; 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Vivian Ellis of Greenwood, Ind., Edna Smith of Gallatin; sister-in-law, Irene Hodges of Portland; brother-in-law, Raymond (Mable) Knight of Portland.
Special appreciation is sent to Prudy and Kenny Walden, Herschel and Margie McClanahan, Lloyd Knight, Louise Woodard and Village Drugs for support allowing Christine to live at home the past few years.
Visitation was Monday, December 21, 2009 and Tuesday, December 22, 2009. Funeral services were 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2009 with Bro. Greg McCoy officiating. Interment followed at Restlawn Memory Gardens.

Lois Irene Cordle
Mrs. Lois Irene Cordle, age 83, of Franklin, passed away December 10, 2009 at her residence.
A native of Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Wilson Jent and Ollie Knight Jent. She was a former employee of the Kendall Company and a member of Martin’s Chapel Church in Portland. Mrs. Cordle was preceded in death by her husband, James Louis Cordle. Survivors include 4 daughters, Mary Jane Cordle and Brenda Joyce Neely both of Franklin, Janice McGlothlin of Smyrna, Tenn. and Darlene Manning of Auburn; 3 sisters, Willie Faye Hammock of Franklin, Earlene Lawrence of Bowling Green and Edna Mae Bunch of Franklin; 1 brother, Edward Jent of Franklin; 7 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
Visitation was Saturday and Sunday. Funeral arrangements were Sunday, December 13, 2009 at 2 p.m. with Bro. Eddie Toney officiating. Burial followed in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
